About Risca Foodbank

Risca Foodbank is based at The Salvation Army, 66a Commercial Street, Pontymister, Risca NP11 6BA. The Foodbank have a group of volunteers who give up their time to help those people who struggle with food poverty in the local areas of Risca/Crosskeys/Cwmcarn/Abercarn/Pantside and Newbridge. We have been serving these communities for the past 10 years. At present and during the Coronavirus Pandemic the Foodbank is only operating every Monday and Wednesday mornings 9.30am till 11.30am behind closed doors. We offer home deliveries and agencies collection at an appointment time given by the Foodbank to the agencies. The agencies issue Electronic Food Vouchers to us via email for these families that require our help. The Vouchers are then exchanged for food parcels that is aimed to last for a minimum of 7 days. We have great working relationships with many local community organisations throughout the surrounding local areas. We also have great working relationships with Tesco Extra in Risca, Morrisons in Rogerstone, Aldi in Risca and One Stop in Risca too. We pick up food donations from these stores every week.
